Dr. Wenjing Liu

Renowned for her passionate and intense musicality, Dr. Wenjing Liu, a solo performer and chamber musician, has captivated audiences across the United States, China, and Italy. Her concert repertoire extends from prestigious professional venues, including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and Steinway Hall in New York, to prominent academic institutions worldwide.
Dr. Liu currently serves on the piano faculty of the Orange County School of the Arts and holds the positions of Music Director and CEO at the North Orange County Conservatory of Music. Prior to her current roles, she previously taught at the University of Iowa, where she instructed both group piano and applied lessons. Additionally, she is a regular lecturer and master class clinician, often conducting teaching sessions extensively in both China and across the United States.
In addition to her roles as a teacher and performer, Dr. Liu currently holds the position of President at the Music Teachers Association of California – Orange County North Branch (MTAC). In this capacity, she actively organizes and hosts various musical events, competitions, concerts, and performance opportunities for students across southern California.
Many of her students have excelled in MTAC’s Certificate of Merit program, earning honorable mentions, and achieving top prizes at prestigious competitions, including the Satori Summer Music Festival, LA Young Pianist Competition, Glendale Piano Competition, Musical Arts Club of Orange County, LA Liszt Competition, MTNA Piano Competitions, Kathryn Gawartin Chopin Competition, and the International Music Competition ‘Brussels’ Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition. Furthermore, her students actively participate in music festivals and community ensembles outside of lessons, such as the Style Piano Festival and the Los Angeles Youth Philharmonic. As a result of their accomplishments, her students have gained admission to leading universities throughout California.
Dr. Liu holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from the University of Iowa, a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Collaborative Piano from Illinois State University, and a Bachelor of Music from Shandong University.
