
Meijie Wu
Meijie Wu is an active concert pianist and ensemble artist, she has performed numerous concerts as a soloist and chamber concerts throughout the U.S. and China. Her performance was well received by the audience. And she is highly active as collaborative pianist working with violinists and vocalists. She frequently participated several collaborative concerts with students and teachers in the Bay Area.
She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance under Dr. Sharon Mann in San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she was received Distinguished Scholarship. And she earned her Master of Music degree at University of California, Los Angeles, studied with Dr. Inna Faliks and Dr. David Kaplan. She was awarded the Exceptionally Qualified Scholarship based on academic achievement and potential during studying at UCLA.
Besides her accomplishment in performing and academics, Meijie is also a distinguished educator. She dedicated to music education by nurturing students to be a better musician. Her students have won numerous international prizes and achieved outstanding results in exams. She thinks every student has different ways of exploring music. Therefore, it is very important to adjust to suit each student’s approach. As a professionally trained pianist, she truly knows what students need to be successful learners, she believes that exquisites and solid technique assessment is priority to play virtuoso pieces. Hence, she utilizes the most efficient technic training methods to foster students to build a solid foundation. Her teaching also focuses on explore students’ own appreciation for music, she inspires students to have their own interpretation idea in performance. In addition, she believes performing opportunities can stimulate students’ potentials, also helps gaining motivation, inspiration, and encouragement. She provides plenty of performance opportunities for her students and she encourages students to participate in competitions to challenge themselves. Currently, Meijie is teaching in San Francisco Bay Area.
