Liwen Deng

Liwen Deng is a distinguished Chinese piano educator who has permanently settled in Vancouver, Canada, as an elite talent. She has been engaged in frontline piano teaching since 2007, with nearly two decades of profound and solid teaching experience. Certified ABRSM as an international instructor and the California Music Teachers Association for the Certificate of Merit Music Examinations, she adopts a rigorous teaching system, integrating international teaching perspectives with profound artistic attainments.

With remarkable teaching achievements, Ms. Deng has won a host of prestigious international awards: Outstanding Mentor Award at the Finals of the Global Outstanding Chinese Youth Piano Competition (USA, 2016), Outstanding Music Education Award at the Finals of the Hong Kong Golden Bauhinia International Youth Piano Competition (2018), Outstanding Mentor Award at the Finals of the Vienna Mozart International Piano Competition (2018), Outstanding Piano Mentor Award at the “Liszt Memorial Award” International Piano Open Competition (2020), and Outstanding Instructor Award for the Level 10 Performance Diploma of the GMT Piano Examination hosted Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota (USA, 2021). In 2020, she was honored with the Best Original MTV Music Award at the San Francisco New Concept International Film Festival, showcasing her versatile musical accomplishments.

She boasts extensive experience in international competition judging and professional lectures. She has served as a jury member for the 5th Yangtze River Cup Piano Competition, Vancouver International Piano Competition (Hubei Division, China), 2022 “Liszt Memorial Award” International Piano Open Competition, and 2024 San Francisco International Piano Competition. In 2017, she was invited as the Music Ambassador at the 1st World Greater Bay Area Economic Forum held at Stanford University. In 2021, she was appointed as an international judge of the International Musicians Association, a piano lecturer of “Artistic Expositor” the Hong Kong International Musicians Association, and was selected into the Honorary Music Talent Pool of the International Musicians Association.

Since settling in Vancouver, Canada, she has been deeply committed to local piano education, cultivating outstanding young musicians with professional and rigorous teaching philosophy. In 2025, her students achieved excellent results at the Vancouver Horizon International Piano Competition. With exceptional teaching achievements and professional influence, she has become a highly acclaimed distinguished Chinese piano educator in the local community.
