Elizabeth Grace

Elizabeth Grace, NCTM, enjoys a multi-faceted career as performer, teacher, clinician and adjudicator. An award-winning pianist, her performances have been praised for their “depth of sound, intelligent interpretation and fluid technique.”

As a pedagogue, Ms. Grace was selected as a 2021 and 2016 Steinway and Sons Top Teacher and was the winner of the 2014 Kansas Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award. She has taught at Rice University, Houston, Texas, Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska and the Lamont Academy at the University of Denver. She is a Certified Master Teacher of the Taubman Approach through the Golandsky Institute in New York City, having taught the work of Dorothy Taubman to students worldwide for over 35 years. A frequent presenter on injury prevention and developing healthy technique, Ms. Grace has been the guest speaker at Kansas State University, the University of Missouri, Kansas City Conservatory, and William Jewell College among others. She has given lectures at the University of Denver, the Kansas State Music Teachers Conference, and to numerous music teacher organizations nationwide. An avid and enthusiastic collaborator, Ms. Grace has appeared on the Chamber Music Tulsa Series, Kansas Ruel Joyce Series, and has played recitals at the University of Denver, University of Texas, Austin, Drake University and the Lawrence Conservatory, among others. As a member of the Capriole Flute/Piano, she has performed extensively with Barbara Leibundguth throughout the United States for over 35 years, most recently in Minneapolis and Kansas City.

Ms. Grace served as Keyboardist in the Houston and Topeka Symphonies and as Principal Keyboardist in the Omaha Symphony. As a longtime member of the performing artist faculty at Rocky Ridge Music Center in Estes Park, Colorado, Ms. Grace also served as the Center’s Music Director for eight years.

Ms. Grace graduated summa cum laude from the Eastman School of Music (MM) and Nebraska Wesleyan University (BM). Additional studies include the Aspen Music Festival, Golandsky Institute, Music Festival of Florida and Rocky Ridge Music Center. She was the first recipient of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society Fellowship Award given for advanced musical study
