Angela Mok

Angela Mok is an accomplished pianist, collaborative artist and dedicated educator. Known for her refined musicality and thoughtful interpretations, she is committed to both performance and fostering a lifelong love of music in young musicians.

Born and raised in Vancouver, Angela began her piano studies at the young age of four, inspired her mother’s love for music and has earned recognition in many competitions over the years. She has since cultivated a strong artistic foundation, captivating audiences with her lyrical phrasing and clarity of touch. She holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance and a Bachelor of Music (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of British Columbia where she studied under renowned artists Mark Anderson, Corey Hamm, Rena Sharon, and Terence Dawson. During her studies, she received recognition for her academic and musical achievements, including the BC Arts Council Scholarships. She has performed in masterclasses, receiving guidance from distinguished pianists including Charles Richard-Hamelin, David Jalbert, and Olga Paschenko.

Selected as a finalist, Angela has also had the pleasure of performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto in C major, Op. 15 under the baton of Jonathan Girard. Devoted to music education, Angela is committed to imparting her knowledge and passion to young pianists, while fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. Her teaching style emphasizes building a strong technical foundation, vast repertoire exploration, and musicality. She is experienced in identifying each student’s unique strengths and talents, helping to foster their individual musical style. Angela regularly organizes performance opportunities including recitals and community outreach concerts, as she strongly believes that each performance opportunity is a learning experience. Her students have also achieved success in various local, national, and international competitions, as well as high distinctions in RCM exams.
