
Donna Vince
Piano Faculty at Webster University
Donna Bowen Vince joined the piano faculty at Webster University in 1981 after returning from a year of study at L’ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, France. Her love of French music was influenced by former teacher Gail Delente at Webster University, and deepened with her studies under Jules Gentil at L’ecole Normale. Post-degree studies include work with Jane Allen, Daniel Schene, Peter Henderson, Steven Spooner, Luiz de Moura Castro, John Perry, and Logan Skelton, and Richard Reber. Through the Institute for Advanced Vocal Studies in Paris, France, Ms. Vince worked with highly esteemed vocal coaches Noel Lee, Irene Aitoff, and Dalton Baldwin. Collaborative performances have included concerts with the Webster University Symphony Orchestra, the Webster University Signature Concert Series, The Art Song Festival and summer study abroad program for Missouri State University in Paris, France, as well as performances in Paris, France at the world recognized Salle Cortot. Donna is an ongoing member of the collaborative pianist team at Webster University for the vocal and instrumental programs.
Professional affiliations include the Music Teachers National Association, the St. Louis Area Music Teachers Association where she has served as President and Vice-President of Programs, and The National Federation of Music Clubs. She has served on the board of the prestigious St. Louis Artist Presentation Society (2019-2023), an organization hosting a competition for emerging young artists and presenting them in concert. A past Keynote Speaker for MTA in Missouri and Illinois and a Panel Presenter for MMTA, Donna enjoys covering a broad range of topics in piano performance and pedagogy. She is a highly sought after adjudicator for competitions and festivals.
In demand as a teacher, Ms. Vince maintains a private studio of all ages. Her students are often recipients of prestigious awards, and are regularly accepted to leading university music programs. Many are currently building successful careers in music.
Ms. Vince holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Webster University and has pursued doctoral studies at the University of Kansas, Lawrence. She is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) through the Music Teachers National Association. Ms. Vince recently served as Interim Director of Keyboard
