Sandy Wang

Taiwanese pianist Sandy Wang, a winner of the 2014 Taiwan National Music Competition, has established a versatile career as a soloist and collaborative artist across North America and Asia. Her performances have been featured in major cities including New York, Michigan, and Vancouver. She has also appeared in chamber concerts in Busan, South Korea.

Notable performance invitations include the Ambassador Performing Concert Series and the Barness Recitals in Florida. Currently, Sandy is a Doctoral Candidate at the University of British Columbia under the mentorship of Mark Anderson. She holds dual Master’s degrees in Piano Performance and Piano Chamber Music from the University of Michigan with Arthur Greene, following her Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music under Dr. Joanne Polk.

Renowned for her command of diverse repertoire, she specializes in the works of Alexander Scriabin and the contemporary compositions of Thomas Adès. Her artistic perspective is further enriched a decade of experience as a flutist, which informs her collaborative sensibilities in

chamber music. Beyond the stage, Sandy is a dedicated educator with over ten years of experience teaching students of all levels across various genres. Her pedagogical background is distinguished her role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of British Columbia.

She provides high-level instruction within the university setting and remains deeply committed to music outreach. Sandy shares her artistic passion through a patient and energetic pedagogical approach that inspires the next generation of musicians.
