Canadian pianist Sarah Ho was raised in Edmonton, Alberta and began piano studies at the age of six. Since that time she has been consistently recognized as soloist and chamber musician in performances, festivals and competitions across Canada, the United States and in Europe. First prizes include the Chiang-Wen Yeh International Piano Competition in Washington, D.C., the Canadian Music Competition in Ottawa, and the Society of American Musicians Contest in Chicago, Illinois. She has also twice been awarded the Sir James Lougheed Award of Distinction from the Government of Alberta.

Sarah has been featured as soloist with orchestras across Canada including the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, and the National Arts Centre Orchestra, and also enjoys playing orchestral piano with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. She has performed in notable venues and summer festivals around the world, including the Schubert Theatre in New York, the Kennedy Center, the Banff Festival for the Arts, the National Arts Centre Young Artists Programme, the Schleswig-Holstein in Germany, Weekend of Chamber Music in New York, and Rudersdal Sommerkoncerter in Denmark. Along with Edmonton’s WindRose Trio, Sarah has performed at the Harbin Music Festival in Harbin, China, becoming the first Canadians to be featured there. Other notable appearances include performances for the former Prime Minister of Canada, Brian Mulroney, and Queen Elizabeth II of England.

Sarah was educated at Indiana University, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree and studied with Menahem Pressler. She completed her Master of Music degree and an Artist Diploma at Yale University with Claude Frank. Edmonton teachers include Wolfram Linnebach and Stephane Lemelin.
Sarah is a dedicated teacher and is on the faculty of the Macewan University Conservatory of Music. She is a founding member and the Artistic Director of the Edmonton Recital Society. Sarah resides in Edmonton, with her husband Colin and their two sons, Markus and Sebastian. An avid runner, she has completed 12 marathons, including the 2020 and 2022 Boston Marathons.
