Yunjia Guan is a highly regarded pianist and music educator, known for her piano performance skills, music education experience, and academic research.
As a passionate music educator, Yunjia Guan is committed to the preservation and popularization of classical music in China. She has taught courses in numerous public and private schools, designed innovative curricula, mentored aspiring young music teachers, and organized various public music events. In 2014, she founded G-Music Studio, and later co-founded G&W Music Studio in 2020. These platforms provide students with opportunities to showcase their talents, broaden their knowledge of music history and music theory, appreciate diverse music genres, and participate in chamber ensemble performances. In addition to piano playing skills, Guan emphasizes the development of students’ stage performance abilities and overall musical competence. Her students have consistently achieved remarkable results in various piano competitions, a testament to her outstanding teaching methods. She has been honored by multiple international competition judging panels as an excellent educator and has been invited to serve as a judge in piano competitions, providing valuable guidance and support to the next generation of musicians.
In addition to her achievements in teaching, Yunjia Guan is an outstanding music performer. On stages in China, Italy, and the United States, she not only performs classical music but also explores jazz and chamber music, earning unanimous praise from international audiences. Recently, she and Mr. Haiyang Wang were invited to a performance tour and taught masterclasses in Columbia and Bolivia in South America, and the tour was well received. Furthermore, she has authored several academic papers for Chinese academic journals, exploring topics such as piano techniques and practice strategies, the relationship between music and emotions, and the creative essence of Bach’s compositions.
Yunjia Guan’s musical journey commenced in Shenyang, China. Discovered for her musical acumen, she entered the Music School Affiliated to Shenyang Conservatory of Music at the age of 10, where she received systematic training. Under the guidance of the renowned pianist, Steinway artist, and Director of the Piano Department at the Central Conservatory of Music, Mr. Danwen Wei, she completed her undergraduate and graduate studies with outstanding grades and successful piano solo recitals.
